Greene County Visitation Rules and Schedules

The Greene County jail offers video visitation. Inmates can have three free video visits, each lasting 25 minutes. Two visits must take place in the jail lobby, while one can be done remotely. Visitors can pay for extra time beyond the free visits.

Inmates and visitors can arrange a visit and inform each other of the date and time. Inmates must also inform visitors about the facility rules for video visits. If visitors break these rules, they may lose their visitation rights. Some visitation rules are as follows:

  • Visitors must not use vulgar, ethnic, or confrontational remarks during visitation.
  • Visitors must not wear clothes that reveal private areas.
  • Visitors or inmates must not engage in illegal activity during video visitations.

Inmates are also eligible for ministerial and attorney visitation. They may receive a 20-minute ministerial visit every week. Such visits can occur between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. The jail administration may approve special visit times. Ministers are required to present enough evidence to prove their identity.

In contrast, attorneys may visit their clients in person from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays. They may also use the WebEx video platform for remote visitation. To use the platform, attorneys must get verified by sending an email to GCJailvisitation@greenecountymo.gov.
